PhoneGap is a mobile development framework. It enables software programmers to build applications for mobile devices using web languages such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, instead of relying only on native platform-specific APIs like those in iOS, Windows Phone, or Android. It allows then to mix native and hybrid code for further flexibility in the development. The software underlying PhoneGap is the open-source software Apache Cordova.
